School Janitorial Team: Day Porters & Janitors

Posted by Tray Hines on Nov 17, 2022 1:15:00 PM

A school day porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of a school building during the daytime hours. This may include tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors; emptying trash cans and recycling bins; cleaning classrooms, restrooms, and other areas of the school; and performing event setups/teardowns, minor repairs, and maintenance tasks. In addition to these physical tasks, a school day porter may also be responsible for managing the inventory, ordering cleaning supplies and equipment, keeping track of maintenance schedules, and ensuring that all equipment is in good working order. To be successful in this role, a school-day porter should have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and good physical stamina. They should also be able to work independently, follow instructions, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. They should also be able to work during regular business hours, as their job duties are typically limited to the daytime hours.
